Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Visual Merchandiser, preferably within retail.
• A strong portfolio showcasing creative visual merchandising concepts and executed displays.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) is highly desirable.
• Excellent understanding of color theory, spatial design, and visual presentation principles.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong emphasis on remote collaboration.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative vision.
• Willingness to travel to Durban and other locations as required.
• Degree in Design, Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience in retail operations or store management is beneficial.
• Creative thinking and a passion for innovative design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and execute visually stunning store layouts and displays that enhance the customer shopping experience.
• Create compelling product presentations that highlight key merchandise and promotional activities.
• Develop and maintain visual merchandising guidelines and standards for all retail locations, ensuring brand consistency.
• Collaborate with marketing, buying, and store operations teams to translate brand strategies into effective visual displays.
• Research industry trends and competitor activities to inform creative direction and maintain a competitive edge.
• Plan and manage the deployment of seasonal and promotional visual merchandising updates.
• Source and procure props, fixtures, and other visual merchandising materials.
• Provide guidance and support to store staff on visual merchandising best practices.
• Travel to retail locations, including Durban, to oversee installations and provide hands-on support.
• Document and report on visual merchandising initiatives, measuring their impact on sales and brand perception.
