Placements24 is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team, working remotely with occasional visits to the East London office. You will evaluate insurance applications, assess risk, and determine policy terms and premiums, contributing to the profitability of the portfolio.

Responsibilities include communicating with agents, maintaining records, and monitoring portfolio performance. A minimum of 3 years' underwriting experience and proficiency in underwriting software and MS Office are

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Underwriter in short- or long-term insurance.
• Solid understanding of insurance principles, risk assessment and underwriting practices.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and MS Office.
• Relevant insurance qualifications (e.g., FAIS compliant) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications to assess risk exposure accurately.
• Determine policy terms, conditions, and pricing based on guidelines and risk.
• Communicate with agents and brokers to gather information for decisions.
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and policy details.
• Monitor portfolio performance and provide risk trend feedback to management.
