Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Remote Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting team. This fully remote role allows you to contribute from your home office while assisting with applications, quotes and documentation from Benoni area and beyond.

You will support underwriters by gathering information, verifying documents and maintaining files, enabling risk assessment and efficient workflow in policies. Strong admin skills and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in an administrative or support role, preferably within insurance.
• Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn new software and work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Assist underwriters in reviewing and processing insurance applications and submissions.
• Gather and verify information, documentation and data for underwriting decisions.
• Prepare policy quotes, renewal documents and endorsements under guidance of an underwriter.
• Maintain organised electronic files and ensure documentation is complete and recorded.
• Communicate professionally with internal teams and external brokers/agents as needed.
• Provide administrative support to the underwriting team, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.
