Job summary
Placements24 seeks an innovative Transportation Engineer for a fully remote role focused on smart, sustainable mobility across South Africa. You will lead ITS design, traffic modeling, and data-driven decision making to optimize traffic flow and public transport.
The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Transportation Engineering with 7+ years of experience, and is proficient in VISSIM, SUMO, Python or R, and cloud platforms. PrEng is preferred.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in transportation engineering, with ITS and smart mobility focus.
- PrEng registration with ECSA is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement ITS solutions, including traffic signal control, sensor networks, and real-time traffic management.
- Develop traffic simulation models and analyze large datasets to identify improvements.
- Contribute to planning of integrated public transport and active transport infrastructure.
- Research emerging transportation technologies and mobility services.
- Collaborate with clients, authorities, and partners to deliver mobility projects.
- Prepare technical reports and proposals for diverse stakeholders.
