Job summary

Placements24 seeks a seasoned Remote Telecommunications Solutions Architect to design end-to-end telecom solutions for clients across South Africa. The role emphasizes strong IP networking, VoIP, and cloud-based architectures, with a focus on scalable, secure, and cost-efficient designs.

You will engage with sales, engineering, and product teams, drafting high-level to detailed designs and BOMs. This remote position requires independent work across multiple projects and venues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in telecommunications, with at least 4 years in a solutions architect or pre-sales engineering role.
• Extensive knowledge of IP networking, VoIP, unified communications, cloud-based solutions, and mobile technologies.
• Experience with network design tools and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of security principles and best practices in telecommunications.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
• Experience with various vendor solutions (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Ericsson, Nokia) is highly advantageous.
