Placements24 seeks a Remote Telecom Network Security Analyst to join a globally distributed security operations team. The role supports our client’s Stellenbosch, Western Cape presence from anywhere in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years in network security analysis or cybersecurity.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, security principles and attacks.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, EDR.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security infrastructure (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM) for anomalies.
• Analyze alerts and investigate breaches or incidents.
• Implement and maintain security controls, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Develop and update security documentation, incident response plans, and awareness training.
• Stay current with cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT and network teams to embed security into designs and operations.
• Provide technical support during security incidents.
• Perform forensic analysis when necessary.
