Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Telecoms Security Analyst to join a fully remote security operations team. You will safeguard telecommunications networks, analyze threats, and drive incident response, with contributions spanning global operations and a conceptual link to Mpumalanga.

The role requires 6+ years in information security, a solid grasp of network security, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and security certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 6+ years of information security experience with a focus on telecoms security.
• Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols and attack vectors.
• Experience with SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation is a plus.
• CISSP, CISM, or CCNA Security certifications are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts and events to detect threats and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct in-depth investigations into security incidents and breaches, identifying root causes.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices for the telecoms environment.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure.
• Design and manage security tools and technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems.
• Stay abreast of emerging threats and industry trends; recommend defense strategies.
• Respond to and manage security incidents, coordinating mitigation efforts.
