Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a visionary Director of Technology Operations to lead infrastructure, security, and service delivery for a global FinTech platform. The role is fully remote, leveraging a distributed IT organization to scale platforms, drive reliability, and implement modern DevOps practices.

You will shape strategic roadmaps, manage budgets and vendors, and partner with engineering and product teams to enable new features.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years in IT operations and infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Extensive experience managing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.
• Proven expertise in DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Strong understanding of network architecture, cybersecurity principles, and IT service management (ITIL).
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage remote, high-performing technical teams.
• Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in the FinTech industry is highly desirable.
• This role is fully remote, requiring strong self-discipline and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, implementation, and management of all technology infrastructure, including cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Lead and mentor a distributed team of IT operations, system administrators, and DevOps engineers.
• Develop and enforce robust policies and procedures for IT security, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Drive the adoption of DevOps practices and automation tools to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Manage IT service delivery, ensuring high availability and performance of all systems and applications.
• Oversee system monitoring, incident response, and problem resolution for all production environments.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure infrastructure readiness for new features and services.
• Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement of technology resources.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Develop and execute strategic technology roadmaps aligned with business goals.
