Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a visionary Lead Software Engineer to drive innovation in a remote-first FinTech environment. You will design, develop, and deploy scalable software platforms, mentor engineers, and shape the technical roadmap to impact millions of users globally.

You will oversee distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and CI/CD practices, while collaborating with product and design teams to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Extensive experience (8+ years) in software development, with leadership or lead engineer role.
• Proven track record designing and building scalable, distributed systems, preferably in FinTech or Banking & Finance.
• Expertise in one or more modern programming languages (Java, Python, Go, C#) and frameworks.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and architectural design skills.
• Outstanding communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, especially in a remote context.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and a passion for delivering high-quality software.
• Understanding of financial technologies and market dynamics is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software systems and applications.
• Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, fostering best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
• Architect scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and roadmaps.
• Drive code reviews, establish coding standards, and ensure code quality.
• Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance our platform's capabilities.
• Contribute to strategic technical planning and decision-making.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team.
• Effectively communicate technical vision and progress to stakeholders in a remote setting.
