Placements24 seeks a skilled Switching Systems Engineer to join a remote engineering team focusing on infrastructure serving the Kimberley region. Design, implement, configure and maintain advanced switching systems that underpin our telecommunications network and ensure high availability and performance in a remote work setup.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in EE/CS, 5+ years in telecom switching, and deep knowledge of circuit and packet switching with vendor platform experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in telecom switching systems engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of circuit and packet switching technologies.
• Experience with vendor platforms (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Huawei) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, routing protocols, and telecommunications standards.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote team environment.

Responsabilités

• Design, configure, and manage core telecom switching systems and platforms.
• Monitor system health, performance, and capacity, implementing proactive measures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and system issues affecting switching infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams on network upgrades and new technology integration.
• Ensure the security and stability of the switching network.
