Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Sustainable Building Consultant for a fully remote role across South Africa. You will advise on energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, and green building certifications, guiding design teams to achieve ambitious sustainability targets.

You will perform energy modeling, life cycle assessments, and develop strategies tailored to project goals, collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients from a distance while staying current with SA

Formación

• Master's degree required in a relevant field.
• Minimum 6 years of sustainable building design or energy efficiency consulting.
• Proven experience with building energy modeling software (IES VE, EnergyPlus, eQUEST).
• Strong knowledge of green building rating systems (Green Star SA, LEED, EDGE).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

About the Role

Our client, a leading consultancy focused on driving sustainability in the built environment, is seeking an experienced Remote Sustainable Building Consultant. This role is entirely remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa. You will specialize in providing expert advice on energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, and green building certifications for a wide range of projects. Your role will involve analyzing building performance, developing strategies for reducing environmental impact, and guiding clients and design teams towards achieving ambitious sustainability targets. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert consultancy on energy efficiency strategies for new and existing buildings.
• Conduct building energy modeling and performance simulations using industry-standard software.
• Advise on the selection and integration of renewable energy systems (solar, wind, etc.).
• Guide projects through green building certification processes, such as Green Star SA and LEED.
• Develop sustainability strategies and action plans tailored to project-specific goals and contexts.
• Perform life cycle assessments (LCA) and analyze embodied carbon impacts.
• Collaborate remotely with architects, engineers, developers, and clients to implement sustainable design solutions.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and technical documentation on sustainability performance.
• Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and regulations in sustainable building and energy efficiency.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in sustainable building design, energy efficiency consulting, or related fields.
• Proven experience with building energy modeling software (e.g., IES VE, EnergyPlus, eQUEST).
• Strong understanding of green building rating systems (Green Star SA, LEED, EDGE).
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and their application in buildings.
