Job summary

Placements24 seeks a senior Structural Engineer to join a remote-enabled team in South Africa. You will design, analyze, and oversee structural integrity for diverse construction projects, collaborating with architects and project managers via digital platforms.

The role requires deep knowledge of building codes, materials, and analysis software, with a preference for PrEng status and at least five years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration or eligibility is desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro) and AutoCAD/Revit.
• Strong understanding of building materials (concrete, steel, timber) and their behavior.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings and other structures.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using CAD and analysis software.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Collaborate remotely with project teams, architects, and contractors to resolve design issues.
• Conduct structural reviews of existing buildings and provide recommendations for remediation or upgrades.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for project submissions.
