Job summary

M-KOPA in Cape Town/Johannesburg, South Africa (Remote) seeks a Strategic Finance Analyst to own long-range planning, market-entry business cases and funding analyses. You will develop executive-level financial models used by the CEO, COO and Board across African markets.

Reporting to Head of Strategic Finance, you will build scenarios, prepare assumption packs, and support budgeting and FP&A cycles while migrating planning processes into Anaplan. Remote-friendly role with Pan-African scope.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience building complex three-statement models from scratch.
• Experience producing high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Strong understanding of how operational drivers affect financial statements.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to document and defend assumptions clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Strong problem-structuring and financial-analysis skills.
• Ability to work effectively with incomplete information and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain long-range financial plan for M-KOPA across African markets.
• Build base, stretch, upside and downside scenarios for markets.
• Prepare assumption packs for leadership and Board review.
• Create audit-ready models for new-market entry and unit economics.
• Analyse funding scenarios and strategic-finance questions.
• Develop complex three-statement financial models.
• Identify balance-sheet and cash-flow inconsistencies before executive review.
• Support monthly and quarterly budgeting and FP&A cycles.
• Produce budget-versus-actual analyses and reporting packs.
• Assist migrating planning processes into Anaplan.
• Translate incomplete business questions into clear analytical models.
