Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Solar Energy Analyst to join a globally distributed, fully remote team serving South Africa. You will evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of solar projects, perform site assessments, build energy production models, and conduct financial analyses to inform investments and development strategies.

The role demands strong data analysis, proficiency with PV modeling tools, and the ability to work independently in a fast-moving renewable energy environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, Economics or related).
• Minimum 4 years in solar project analysis, energy modeling, or renewable energy finance.
• Proficiency with solar modeling software and Excel.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Familiarity with SA energy market advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site feasibility studies for solar PV projects, including resource assessment and shading analysis.
• Develop detailed energy production models to forecast project output.
• Perform financial modeling and ROI/NPV/IRR analyses.
• Analyze market trends, policy incentives, and regulatory frameworks.
• Prepare detailed reports for stakeholders and present findings.
