Job summary

GLOBALTALENT in South Africa seeks an early-career Software Engineer to help build the platform powering grant funding. You will work across backend, frontend, and the AI pipeline, starting under close guidance from the CTO and progressing toward independent ownership.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of experience, solid TypeScript/JavaScript fundamentals, and a curiosity across the stack (React, Node/Express, Postgres, AWS). German is a plus; fully remote work is possible.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer or strong university projects.
• Solid fundamentals in TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
• Willingness to learn across the full stack (React, Node/Express, Postgres, AWS).
• AI-native approach to software development with curiosity and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Ship features end-to-end from backend to UI.
• Work across the stack including React, Node/Express, Postgres, AWS.
• Grow independence and ownership with mentoring from the CTO.
• Develop AI-powered features and participate in prompt engineering and evaluations.
