Placements24 is seeking a Senior Tourism Development Officer to lead strategy and execution for tourism growth in Limpopo, working fully remotely. You will research markets, identify new attractions, and coordinate with public and private partners to drive sustainable development.

The role requires 6+ years in tourism, strong strategic and analytical skills, and proven remote-work effectiveness. You will manage projects, organize workshops, and help promote the region to visitors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in tourism development, destination management, or a related field.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, project management, and stakeholder engagement within the tourism sector.
• Strong understanding of tourism economics, market dynamics, and sustainable tourism principles.
• Excellent research, analytical, and report-writing skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities, suitable for remote interaction.
• Experience working effectively in a fully remote environment, utilizing collaboration tools and platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Relevant degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Geography, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for tourism growth and product development within the Limpopo region.
• Identify and assess potential new tourism attractions, experiences, and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct market research, feasibility studies, and impact assessments for proposed developments.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with tourism businesses, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
• Develop and manage projects aimed at improving the quality and sustainability of tourism offerings.
• Organize and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and networking events for tourism stakeholders.
• Contribute to marketing and promotional strategies to enhance the region's visibility as a tourist destination.
