Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Structural Engineer in South Africa. You will design and analyze complex structures, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality across diverse projects. This role offers remote autonomy while collaborating with a global team of professionals.

The ideal candidate brings a Master’s in Structural Engineering, Pr Eng with ECSA, 7+ years of experience, and proficiency in SAP2000/ETABS/SAFE. BIM and Revit experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis and design for high-rise, commercial, and residential buildings.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate remotely with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to integrate designs.
• Perform site visits occasionally (travel expenses covered) for design verification or problem resolution.
• Ensure all designs comply with SANS and international building codes.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs from construction teams.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and learning.
• Stay updated on new technologies, materials, and best practices.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables for structural components.
