Placements24 seeks a Senior Sound Designer to lead the auditory landscape of cutting-edge video games remotely from South Africa. You will drive the end-to-end sound design process, collaborating with developers and artists to craft immersive audio that elevates gameplay and player immersion.

You will implement assets in Unity/Unreal and Wwise/FMOD, mentor juniors, and stay ahead of audio tech trends to shape the sonic future of interactive entertainment from your home office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in sound design for video games.
• Proficiency with DAWs such as Pro Tools, Reaper, or Cubase.
• Experience with Unity/Unreal and audio middleware Wwise/FMOD.

Responsibilities

• Design, record, edit, and mix high-quality sound effects, ambient audio, and musical elements for video games.
• Implement audio assets using game engines and audio middleware.
• Collaborate with designers, programmers, and artists to integrate audio into gameplay.
• Develop and maintain audio style guides and technical specs for game sound.
• Mentor junior sound designers and contribute to team growth.
• Stay current with advancements in audio technology and game engines.
