Placements24 is partnering with WhatJobs Direct to recruit a Senior Social Worker for a fully remote role serving families in the Centurion area. You will conduct assessments, provide counseling, and develop intervention plans to support child safety and family resilience.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, supervise junior staff, and stay current with South African social service legislation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent.
• Professional registration with SACSSP.
• 5-7 years of post-qualification experience in family social work or related fields.
• Crisis intervention, counseling, and case management experience.
• Knowledge of South Africa child protection laws and family support systems.

Responsabilités

• Conduct in-depth assessments of family situations, identifying strengths, needs, and risks.
• Develop and implement evidence-based intervention and support plans for families.
• Provide individual, couples, and family counseling and psychotherapy.
• Facilitate referrals to community services including child protection, mental health, and substance abuse programs.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent qualification.

• A minimum of 5-7 years of post-qualification experience in family social work, child welfare, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention, counseling, and case management.
• Strong understanding of child protection laws and family support systems in South Africa .
• Excellent virtual communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.
• Proficiency in using digital communication tools (video conferencing, secure messaging) and electronic record-keeping systems.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a demanding caseload remotely.
• Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff is a plus.
