Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior RF Network Planner to join a fully remote team based in Rustenburg, North West. This role focuses on strategic planning and optimization of RF networks to deliver high-quality wireless services.

The ideal candidate has strong RF theory, propagation modeling, and experience with Atoll, Planet or iBwave, and can work effectively with field operations while working remotely from home.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of RF planning and optimization experience.
• Proficiency in RF planning and simulation software (Atoll, Planet, iBwave).
• Strong understanding of LTE and 5G NR and RF principles.
• Experience with drive test tools and post-processing analysis.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed RF network plans, including site acquisition strategies, antenna placements, and frequency planning.
• Conduct site surveys and drive tests to evaluate network performance and identify coverage gaps.
• Utilize RF planning tools (e.g., Atoll, Planet) for network modeling, simulation, and optimization.
• Analyze traffic data and performance metrics to forecast future capacity needs.
• Plan and design upgrades to existing RF infrastructure to support new technologies and services.
• Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure successful implementation of network plans.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
• Stay updated on RF technology trends, regulatory requirements, and competitor activities.
