Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer specialized in pyrometallurgy and smelting to lead design, optimization, and safe operation of high-temperature metallurgical processes. This fully remote role supports global teams on critical projects, focusing on efficiency, emissions control, and sustainability.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in process engineering, advanced degrees, and proven ability to model, troubleshoot, and mentor across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in metallurgical/chemical engineering or related field with specialization in pyrometallurgy.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in process engineering with a focus on pyrometallurgy, smelting and refining.
• In-depth knowledge of furnace technologies and associated operations; Peirce-Smith converters, electric and flash furnaces.

Responsabilités

• Lead design, development, and optimization of pyrometallurgical processes, especially smelting and refining.
• Conduct process simulations to predict performance and evaluate design changes.
• Troubleshoot furnaces, convertors, and related equipment to implement effective solutions.
• Improve process efficiency, reduce energy use, and minimize waste.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
