Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Production Line Manager for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will oversee multiple projects, optimize production lines, and drive operational excellence from a remote setting, collaborating with engineering, QA, and supply chain teams.

Ideal candidate has a strong track record in complex manufacturing environments, lean/Six Sigma proficiency, and proven ability to lead distributed teams with cloud-based monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Operations Engineering (Master's preferred).
• 7+ years in manufacturing production management with 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience managing production lines in complex manufacturing environments.
• Strong lean and Six Sigma knowledge with quality control expertise.
• Proven ability to lead remote teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with production management software, ERP, and remote collaboration tools.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with automation and advanced manufacturing technologies is desirable.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for production line optimization to enhance efficiency and throughput.
• Oversee daily production operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and production schedules.
• Manage and mentor a distributed team of production supervisors and line leads, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
• Monitor KPIs and production metrics, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on process improvements, new product introductions, and equipment upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage production budgets and resource allocation effectively to meet operational goals.
• Utilize advanced production management software and digital tools for remote monitoring and control.
• Drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
• Facilitate effective communication channels between remote teams and stakeholders.
