Placements24 is looking for aSenior PR and Communications Strategist to lead external communications for a fast-growing tech startup. This is a fully remote role requiring a seasoned professional to shape the brand narrative, drive media exposure, and manage key journalist relationships.

You will develop strategic PR plans, oversee press materials, monitor coverage, and collaborate with marketing, product, and executives to ensure consistent messaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, Journalism, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years in PR and communications with a technology focus.
• Proven track record securing top-tier national media coverage.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication with persuasive storytelling.
• Strong media contacts within the tech industry.
• Experience in crisis communications and reputation management.
• Proficiency with PR tools such as Cision or Meltwater.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a robust PR and communications strategy aligned with business goals.
• Cultivate relationships with journalists, analysts, and influencers in tech.
• Pitch story angles to secure high-profile media placements.
• Manage inbound media requests and act as press liaison.
• Oversee press releases, media kits, thought leadership content.
• Monitor coverage, analyze sentiment, and report PR performance.
• Develop crisis communication plans to protect the brand.
• Collaborate with marketing, product and executives for consistent messaging.
• Identify new channels and trends to boost brand visibility.
• Mentor junior team members as the department grows.
