Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead cutting-edge software development projects in a fully remote role across South Africa. You will oversee the SDLC from concept through deployment, drive agile ceremonies, mentor junior PMs, and collaborate with product owners, development teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality SaaS solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
7+ years of experience in software project management, with at least 4 years focused on Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Proven experience managing complex software development projects, preferably in a SaaS environment.
Strong understanding of the SDLC and various technology stacks.
Excellent proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Asana, or similar.
Exceptional leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to effectively manage distributed teams and foster strong remote working relationships.
Experience with performance metrics and reporting for software projects.
Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, CSPO, PMP-ACP) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple Agile software development projects from initiation to closure, ensuring on-time, within-budget, and high-quality delivery.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Collaborate closely with product owners, development teams, QA, and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, roadmaps, and backlogs, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
Identify, assess, and manage project risks and dependencies, implementing proactive mitigation strategies.
Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Effectively communicate project status, key metrics, risks, and issues to all levels of the organization.
Manage project budgets, track resource allocation, and ensure efficient utilization of team capacity.
Mentor junior project managers and team members, providing guidance and support.
Drive the adoption and refinement of Agile best practices within the organization.
