Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Research Scientist to lead AI/ML driven neuroscience research from a global, remote-first team. The role focuses on developing cutting-edge algorithms, analyzing neural data, and translating findings into impactful scientific publications.

You will collaborate with neuroscientists, AI researchers, and clinicians across time zones, mentor junior researchers, and help draft grant proposals while advancing brain-health science.

Qualifications

• PhD in a quantitative field with a strong AI/ML focus.
• Minimum 5 years post-doctoral experience or equivalent in computational neuroscience, AI research, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and application of advanced AI/ML models for the analysis of neuroimaging, electrophysiological, and behavioral neuroscience data.
• Design and implement computational experiments to investigate neural mechanisms and identify biomarkers for neurological diseases.
• Collaborate remotely with a multidisciplinary team of neuroscientists, AI researchers, and clinicians to define research questions and project goals.
• Develop robust data pipelines for preprocessing, analyzing, and visualizing large-scale neuroscience datasets.
• Stay current with the latest research trends in AI, ML, and neuroscience, and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Publish research findings in top-tier scientific journals and present at international conferences.
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to building a strong remote research community.
• Evaluate and implement new AI/ML algorithms and computational tools relevant to neuroscience research.
• Ensure reproducibility and rigorous validation of all computational models and analyses.
• Contribute to grant writing and the development of research proposals.
