Placements24 seeks a Senior Nanomaterials Scientist to lead research on novel nanomaterials from synthesis to characterization in a fully remote role within South Africa. You will drive experiments, analyze results, and contribute to publications while collaborating with global teams.

The ideal candidate has a PhD with nanomaterials focus, 5+ years post-doctoral experience, and strong communication skills suitable for a remote setting.

Qualifications

• PhD in a closely related field with nanomaterials specialization.
• Minimum 5 years of post-doctoral research experience in nanomaterial synthesis, characterization, and application.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least two listed characterization techniques (TEM/SEM/XRD/XPS/AFM).
• Proven publication record in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments for synthesis and fabrication of novel nanomaterials.
• Use advanced characterization to analyze structure, composition and morphology.
• Investigate properties and performance in energy, catalysis, or sensors.
• Develop scalable synthesis routes for nanomaterials.
• Publish findings and present at international conferences.
