Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Mechanical Quality Engineer to join our client’s team on a fully remote basis, supporting operations near Benoni. You will develop and implement quality control plans for mechanical designs and manufacturing processes, and drive CAPA.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 7+ years in mechanical quality, ISO 9001 and SPC knowledge, and strong remote communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical quality engineering or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Experience with various inspection and testing techniques for mechanical components.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, suitable for a remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive quality control plans for mechanical designs and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct regular quality audits of internal processes and supplier performance.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement CAPA to address non-conformities.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to build quality into the design phase.
• Manage calibration and maintenance of quality testing equipment and ensure standards compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and training on quality standards and methodologies.
