Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue goals, focusing on major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and foundation grants.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, philanthropic foundations, and corporate entities, ensuring consistent engagement and stewardship.
• Identify, research, and solicit prospective donors, preparing compelling proposals, grant applications, and donor communications.
• Organize and execute fundraising events (virtual and in-person, where applicable), including cultivation events, donor appreciation gatherings, and signature fundraising campaigns.
• Collaborate with the communications team to develop persuasive fundraising materials, including annual reports, case statements, and digital campaigns.
• Track and analyze fundraising performance data, providing regular reports to senior leadership on progress towards goals and identifying areas for improvement.
• Stay abreast of fundraising best practices, industry trends, and potential funding opportunities relevant to our client's mission in Sandton, Gauteng, ZA.
• Recruit, train, and mentor junior fundraising staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in non-profit fundraising, with a significant portion focused on major gifts and institutional giving.
• Demonstrated success in securing significant funding from diverse sources, with a strong portfolio of secured gifts.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and engage diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with donors and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
• Passion for the mission of the organization and a commitment to ethical fundraising practices.
• Experience working within the Gauteng, ZA non-profit sector is highly desirable.
