Placements24 is seeking a Senior Formulation Scientist to join its advanced R&D division, driving design, development and optimization of novel drug delivery systems for a diverse portfolio. The role is remote-first with occasional travel to client sites or conferences, enabling leadership from a distributed team.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on pharmaceutical formulation development experience.
• Expertise in drug delivery technologies and dosage forms.
• Strong lab skills and knowledge of pre-formulation and stability testing.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experimental plans for the development of new pharmaceutical formulations (e.g., oral, injectable, topical).
• Optimize formulations for improved stability, bioavailability, and manufacturability.
• Characterize drug substances and excipients, and evaluate their compatibility.
• Utilize various laboratory techniques and equipment for formulation development and analysis.
• Collaborate with analytical development, process engineering, and regulatory affairs teams.
• Troubleshoot formulation issues and propose viable solutions.
