About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Senior Formulation Scientist to lead product development efforts within their fully remote R&D division. This role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing novel drug delivery systems and dosage forms to enhance therapeutic efficacy and patient compliance. You will leverage your deep expertise in pharmaceutical sciences, materials science, and formulation development to drive projects from concept through to pre-clinical stages. Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, utilize advanced modeling and simulation tools, and contribute significantly to the company's pipeline of cutting‑edge pharmaceutical products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative formulations for various routes of administration (oral, parenteral, topical).
• Optimize existing formulations to improve stability, bioavailability, and manufacturability.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility testing.
• Utilize advanced characterization techniques and analytical methods to evaluate formulation performance.
• Troubleshoot formulation and process development challenges, proposing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with external partners and contract research organizations (CROs) in a remote environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of hands‑on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
