Placements24 is seeking a dedicatedRemote Senior DevOps Engineer to join their international team. This fully remote role lets you work from anywhere in South Africa, focusing on building scalable, secure infrastructure for cutting-edge products.

You will streamline development, deployments, and operations to ensure high availability. You will automate processes, implement IaC with Terraform/Ansible, manage Kubernetes and Docker, and collaborate across dev and ops.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years in a DevOps or similar role with cloud experience.
• Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tooling.
• Solid Linux/Windows administration and networking basics.
• Strong communication in a remote, async team.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
• Manage scalable, secure cloud infrastructure on AWS/Azure/GCP.

This fully remote role allows you to work from anywhere in South Africa, focusing on building and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure for their cutting-edge products. You will be responsible for streamlining development, deployment, and operations processes, ensuring high availability and performance. We seek an individual passionate about automation, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native technologies. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud resources, and fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of applications.

Requirements

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Expertise in containerization technologies (Docker) and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and system administration (Linux/Windows).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, asynchronous team environment.
