Placements24 in Randburg, Gauteng is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with deep learning expertise to design, develop and deploy models for image recognition, NLP, and time-series forecasting. You will preprocess large datasets, train models, and collaborate with MLOps engineers to deploy to production.

The role requires a strong ML foundation, proficiency in Python and TF/PyTorch/Keras, and experience with cloud AI services.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a strong focus on deep learning.
• Proficiency in Python and deep learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
• Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques.
• Experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML services.
• Strong data visualization and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with Spark is a plus.
• Knowledge of MLOps principles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement deep learning models for classification, regression, NLP, and computer vision.
