Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist with a specialization in financial modeling to join its analytics division in a fully remote role across South Africa. You will lead the design and deployment of sophisticated models, leveraging time-series forecasting, regression, and classification to solve complex financial problems.

The role requires 5+ years in data science with a strong emphasis on finance, deep knowledge of Python or R, and experience with SQL and big data tools.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field.
• 5+ years in data science with financial modeling focus.
• Proficient in Python or R for ML and data analysis; SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy financial models using ML and statistics.
• Analyze large datasets for patterns related to financial performance and risk.
• Build predictive models for credit scoring, fraud detection, algorithmic trading.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
