Placements24 is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our fully remote analytics team. You will design and deploy advanced machine learning models for financial modeling and risk assessment, while collaborating with cross-functional partners to translate data into actionable business recommendations.

Ideal candidates hold a Master's or PhD, 5+ years of experience, expert Python or R, and strong SQL skills, with experience in Spark/Hadoop and visualization tools.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
• Proficiency in Python or R, and libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Pandas.
• Strong SQL experience and working with large databases.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, deep learning).
• Big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Excellent data visualization skills with Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Tableau.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, especially in remote setting.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects in a remote capacity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement sophisticated machine learning models and statistical analyses.
• Collect, clean, and preprocess large, complex datasets from various sources.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations.
• Develop predictive models for forecasting, classification, and anomaly detection.
• Evaluate and validate model performance, iterating to improve accuracy.
• Collaborate with engineers to deploy models into production environments.
• Communicate findings through clear visualizations and narratives.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the team's technical growth.
