You will translate complex technical information into engaging narratives while managing media relations, digital content, and internal communications.

The role emphasizes independent project management across time zones, collaboration with leadership, and delivering high-quality results in a flexible remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience in communications or public relations, with a strong portfolio of work.
• Demonstrated expertise in media relations, content development, and digital communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for crafting persuasive and clear messages.
• Experience in managing internal communications and employee engagement programs.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
• Proficiency with communication tools and platforms, including social media management tools.
• Strong analytical skills for monitoring and reporting on communication effectiveness.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams across different time zones.
• A proactive, results-oriented approach and a passion for sustainability is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with the Stellenbosch, Western Cape business community is an advantage but not required for this remote role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic communication plans across various channels, including media, digital, and internal platforms.
• Manage media relations, including pitching stories, drafting press releases, and responding to inquiries.
• Create engaging content for various audiences, such as website copy, blog posts, social media updates, and internal newsletters.
• Support internal communications efforts to ensure employee engagement and alignment with company goals.
• Monitor media coverage and social media conversations, analysing sentiment and providing actionable insights.
• Collaborate with marketing, product development, and executive teams to ensure consistent messaging.
• Assist in managing the company's online presence and reputation.
• Plan and execute communication strategies for key company initiatives and events.
• Conduct research on industry trends and competitor communications.
• Maintain and update communication assets and media kits.
