Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions on AWS and/or Azure for enterprise clients, shaping strategy, migrations, and security postures.

You will lead architectural design, mentor engineers, and ensure best practices across IaC, CI/CD, and DR. Strong communication and independence are essential for success in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 7+ years of IT infrastructure experience, at least 4 years in cloud architecture and implementation (AWS/Azure).
• Proven experience designing and deploying complex, scalable cloud solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud services (compute, storage, networking, databases, security, management).
• Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation and CI/CD practices.
• Strong containerization knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Relevant cloud certifications (AWS/Azure) are desirable.
