Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a focus on infrastructure planning for a fully remote role serving clients across South Africa, especially Bloemfontein. You will lead long-term master plans for transportation, water, and energy networks, conduct feasibility studies, and develop policies to support sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Urban Planning or Infrastructure Management desirable.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive civil engineering experience focusing on infrastructure planning and strategy.
• Experience leading complex planning projects and policy development.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple remote projects.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting complex information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of infrastructure master plans and strategic planning documents for transport, water, and energy.
• Conduct feasibility studies, needs assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for infrastructure projects.
• Identify and assess risks and develop mitigation strategies for large-scale infrastructure.
• Develop policy recommendations and regulatory frameworks to support sustainable growth.
• Collaborate remotely with client teams, government bodies, and stakeholders to gather requirements and present findings.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and planning professionals across locations.
