Placements24 is seeking a Senior Character Modeler to join a fully remote art team and bring virtual characters to life for gaming projects. You will create high-quality, detailed character models, focusing on anatomy, form, and silhouette, while translating concept art into technically sound assets.

The role requires mastery of ZBrush, Maya or Blender, and texturing with Substance Painter/Photoshop. Collaboration with directors, riggers, and animators is essential in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Character Modeler in gaming/animation with a strong portfolio.
• Expertise in 3D modeling software such as ZBrush, Maya, or Blender.
• Proficiency in texturing and painting software like Substance Painter and Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of human and creature anatomy, proportions, and form.
• Experience with PBR workflows and game engine requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Create high-poly and low-poly 3D character models from concept art and specs.
• Sculpt detailed characters with accurate anatomy and proportions.
• Perform retopology and UV unwrapping for game-ready assets.
• Texture and paint materials for characters following PBR workflows.
• Collaborate with art director, riggers, and animators to meet requirements.
• Maintain high quality and consistency across character assets.
