Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Blockchain Engineer to join a distributed team. This fully remote role focuses on developing and optimizing the core infrastructure of our client's blockchain ecosystem, tackling complex technical challenges from anywhere, including Bloemfontein.

You will design, test, and deploy scalable blockchain applications, work with Solidity, Vyper, Truffle, and Hardhat, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on blockchain technology.
• Proven experience with smart contract languages (e.g., Solidity, Vyper) and frameworks (e.g., Truffle, Hardhat).
• In-depth knowledge of blockchain principles, including distributed ledger technology, consensus mechanisms, and cryptography.
• Experience with programming languages like Go, Rust, or Node.js for backend development.
• Familiarity with containerization and cloud deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable blockchain applications and smart contracts.
• Architect and implement core blockchain protocols and infrastructure enhancements.
• Optimize existing blockchain solutions for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate requirements into technical designs and implementations.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within the blockchain network.
