Placements24 is seeking a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join a fully remote research team. You will analyze genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics data, develop computational pipelines, and collaborate with biologists and clinicians to interpret results.

The role focuses on advancing drug discovery through advanced analytics, statistics, and ML while contributing to cutting-edge research in a distributed, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in bioinformatics or computational biology.
• Proficiency in Python or R and relevant libraries.
• Experience with shell scripting and HPC clusters.
• Experience analyzing various NGS data types.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust computational pipelines for large-scale omics data.
• Analyze sequencing data (RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, WGS, WES).
• Collaborate with experimental scientists to design studies and interpret results.
• Apply statistical methods and ML to identify patterns and biomarkers.
• Create visualizations and summaries for publications and presentations.
• Maintain bioinformatics databases and tools for ongoing research.
