Job summary

Our client, a pioneer in automotive software solutions, is seeking a Senior Automotive Software Architect to lead the architectural vision for in-vehicle systems. This remote-first role supports a fully distributed engineering team and emphasizes embedded software, AUTOSAR, and cybersecurity.

We’re looking for a seasoned leader with 10+ years in software, including 5+ years in automotive architecture, capable of guiding cross-functional teams from Mossel Bay and beyond in a flexible, remote work

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of software experience with 5+ years in automotive software architecture.
Proven experience designing embedded systems for automotive applications.
Strong knowledge of SDLC (Agile, Waterfall) and CI/CD practices.
Deep understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).

Responsibilities

Define high-level architecture for automotive software systems aligned with product roadmaps.
Lead design and development of embedded software components per automotive standards.
Evaluate technologies and tools for software development.
Collaborate with systems, hardware, and product teams to translate requirements into designs.
Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle.
