Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in CS/SE or equivalent experience.

• Familiar with AUTOSAR standards and methodologies.

• Define and document the overall software architecture for automotive applications including embedded systems, cloud connectivity and UI.
• Lead the design of software components and modules, ensuring adherence to architectural principles.
• Collaborate with hardware, product and software teams to translate requirements into architectures.
• Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks and tools for development.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and document the overall software architecture for automotive applications, including embedded systems, cloud connectivity, and user interfaces.
• Lead the design of software components and modules, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, product managers, and software developers, to translate requirements into architectural designs.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with a significant focus on automotive software architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive software development lifecycle (V-model, Agile).
• Experience with AUTOSAR standards and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and microcontroller architectures.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles in automotive applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration into automotive systems is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
• Proven ability to design complex, distributed systems.
• Experience within the Gauteng technology sector, preferably with automotive exposure.
