Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Auditor to join their virtual audit team. You will plan and execute complex external audits for diverse clients, ensuring ISA compliance and IFRS alignment, all in a fully remote environment.

The role demands 5–7 years of experience, CA(SA)/ACCA credentials, and strong analytical and communication skills for client liaison and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Professional qualification CA(SA) or ACCA mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and finalize audits per ISAs and regulations.

• Develop detailed audit programs and work papers, ensuring clear documentation and support.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations effective to clients and internal management.

• Stay current with changes in auditing standards, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the audit function and for clients.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports, summarizing findings and outlining proposed solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• A professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, or equivalent is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in external auditing.
• Proven experience and comfort working in a fully remote, asynchronous work environment.
• In-depth knowledge of ISAs, IFRS, and South African corporate laws.
• Proficiency in audit software (e.g., CaseWare, ACL) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
