About the Role

Our client is expanding their Security Operations Center (SOC) and is seeking a skilled Tier 2 SOC Analyst for a fully remote position. In this role, you will be responsible for investigating complex security alerts, performing in-depth analysis of security incidents, and leading response efforts. You will act as a escalation point for Tier 1 analysts, providing expert guidance and ensuring timely and effective resolution of security events. This is a critical role in our client's 24/7 security monitoring operations, demanding keen analytical skills and a proactive approach to threat mitigation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a deep understanding of security technologies and attack methodologies. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection tools.
• Investigate and validate security incidents, performing in-depth forensic analysis and determining the scope and impact.
• Serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 SOC Analysts, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Develop and execute response procedures for escalated security incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Conduct threat hunting activities to proactively identify potential security breaches.
• Analyze malware, phishing attempts, and other cyber threats.
• Document security incidents, findings, and resolutions thoroughly in incident tracking systems.
• Contribute to the improvement of SOC playbooks, procedures, and detection rules.
• Stay updated on the latest cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+, GIAC GCIH) are highly valued.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment, preferably as a Tier 2 analyst.
• Proven experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm) and EDR solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and common attack vectors.
• Experience with incident response methodologies and forensic analysis techniques.
• Ability to analyze large volumes of data and identify patterns and anomalies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and collaboration.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote , shift-based environment (if applicable).
