Placements24 is seeking a vigilant SOC Analyst to join our client’s dynamic security operations team. This remote role offers flexibility for cybersecurity professionals to monitor security alerts, investigate threats, and respond to incidents to protect the organization’s digital assets.

The ideal candidate has experience with SIEM tools, understands network security, and can work effectively in a 24/7 operations environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in cybersecurity.
• 1-3 years in a SOC or related cybersecurity role.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm) and IDS/IPS.
• Understanding of networking concepts, security, and operating systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work remote shifts.
• Security+ or CySA+ are a plus.
• Attention to detail and proactive monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
• Investigate potential security incidents and assess scope/impact.
• Perform initial triage and containment of breaches.
• Document security events, investigations, and resolutions.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in a SOC environment or related cybersecurity role.
• Understanding of security concepts, networking protocols, and operating systems.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm) and IDS/IPS.
• Basic knowledge of incident response procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team setting, often in shifts.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CySA+ are a plus.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to security monitoring.
