Placements24 is seeking a Senior SOC Manager to establish and lead a fully remote Security Operations Center for a global cloud services leader. You will oversee day-to-day security operations, threat detection, incident response, and the ongoing refinement of SOC processes in a distributed, cloud-centric environment.

The role requires 7+ years in information security with 3+ years in SOC management, strong knowledge of SIEM/SOAR/EDR, and outstanding leadership and communication to align

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in information security operations; 3+ years in SOC leadership roles.
• Experience scaling SOC operations, preferably remote.
• Deep knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, threat intel platforms, and other SOC tech.
• Strong incident response, threat hunting, and malware analysis skills.
• Proven leadership, communication, and distributed-team management abilities.
• Experience with cloud security operations (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCIA preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and manage the operations of a new, fully remote Security Operations Center (SOC). Develop and implement SOC policies, procedures, and workflows for threat detection, analysis, and incident response. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of SOC analysts, fostering professional growth and high performance. Oversee the selection, deployment, and management of SOC tools, including SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the SOC to enhance detection capabilities and response efficiency. Ensure timely and effective investigation and remediation of security incidents. Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Create and present regular reports on SOC performance, incident trends, and security posture to senior management. Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, attack vectors, and defensive strategies. Contribute to the overall security strategy and roadmap of the organization.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or equivalent extensive experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security operations, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role within a SOC environment. Proven experience in establishing and scaling SOC operations, preferably in a remote setting. In-depth knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, threat intelligence platforms, and other SOC technologies. Strong understanding of incident response methodologies, threat hunting, and malware analysis. Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills. Ability to develop and implement effective processes and procedures in a distributed environment. Experience with cloud security operations (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, or GCIA are strongly preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fully remote work environment.
