Job summary

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, part of Spirax Group, seeks a Sales Engineer in South Africa. You will drive growth in the Industrial Process sector, managing a robust pipeline, visiting sites, and demonstrating our fluid management solutions across mining and related industries.

The role requires strong technical and commercial acumen, extensive travel, and autonomy in field sales. You will build relationships as a trusted advisor and contribute to ongoing growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum National Diploma (NQF6) in mechanical/electrical field.
• 5+ years of technical sales in the industrial process sector.
• Experience with positive displacement pumps is a plus.
• Proven sales track record and ability to grow customer bases in mining or related processes.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work independently.
• Excellent communication and CRM proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a sustainable pipeline of opportunities across SA.
• Engage potential customers through research, networking and events.
• Act as trusted advisor, offer technical expertise and build long-term relationships.
• Provide tailored quotations and timely follow-ups on sales leads.
• Coordinate workload with regional teams to support growth initiatives.
• Conduct on-site or virtual product demonstrations and technical discussions.
• Research trends and share insights with global teams for best practices.
• Use CRM tools to track leads and forecast sales accurately.
• Drive Total Customer Solutions through consultative selling.
• Champion safety, collaboration, and customer focus across teams.
