Placements24 is seeking a Remote Renewable Energy Analyst to join a growing virtual team focused on renewable energy markets across South Africa. You will perform market research, data analysis, and feasibility studies for solar, wind, and battery storage projects, advising on energy policy, market trends, and investment opportunities.

The role requires 4+ years in energy market analysis or related consultancy, with strong Excel/Python/MATLAB data modelling skills and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field related to energy/economics/engineering.
• 4+ years of energy market analysis, consulting, or related experience in renewables.
• Strong skills in data analysis and financial modeling software (Excel, MATLAB, Python).
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to present complex info clearly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and analysis on renewable energy technologies, policies, and trends.
• Develop financial models and feasibility studies for renewable energy projects.
• Analyze energy data to identify optimization opportunities and cost reductions.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and client/internal recommendations.
• Monitor regulatory changes and their impact on renewable energy markets.
• Collaborate with a dispersed virtual team using project management tools.
