Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Reinforcement Learning Specialist to join its remote-first team. You will design, implement, and optimize advanced RL algorithms across robotics, autonomous systems, and game AI, collaborating with researchers and engineers worldwide.

You will publish findings, contribute to RL libraries, and push the boundaries of what intelligent agents can achieve, all while working in a fully distributed environment with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or related field with RL specialization.
• Proven experience in developing and applying reinforcement learning algorithms (e.g., Q-learning, Policy gradients, Actor-Critic, Deep RL).
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow or PyTorch).
• Experience with RL simulation environments (OpenAI Gym, MuJoCo) is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of ML fundamentals, math, and statistics.
• Ability to conduct independent research and contribute to a remote team.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and implement novel RL algorithms and techniques.
• Develop and train RL agents for complex decision-making tasks in simulated and real-world environments.
• Optimize RL algorithms for performance, efficiency, and scalability.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to integrate RL solutions into larger systems.

• Stay current with RL research and publish findings.
