Placements24 seeks a brilliant AI Research Engineer specializing in Reinforcement Learning to advance cutting-edge AI applications. This fully remote role invites you to design, implement, and evaluate novel RL algorithms for real-world challenges, collaborating with a global team of researchers and engineers.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in CS/AI/Robotics with RL focus.
• Proven experience designing and testing RL algorithms (Q-learning, Policy Gradients, Actor-Critic).
• Strong Python skills and use of NumPy/SciPy; experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Familiarity with RL libraries and simulators: OpenAI Gym, Stable Baselines, RLlib.
• Solid understanding of ML basics, deep learning, and statistics.
• Ability to conduct rigorous research and publish results.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• Experience with distributed systems and HPC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct RL research and develop novel algorithms.
• Design, implement, and test RL agents for robotics, games, optimization, and control systems.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to integrate RL solutions into larger AI systems and products.
• Analyze experimental results, draw meaningful conclusions, and iterate on algorithms.
• Stay abreast of latest RL research and industry trends.
• Contribute to publication of research findings in top-tier conferences and journals.
• Develop and maintain scalable RL training environments and frameworks.
• Optimize RL algorithms for performance and efficiency on available hardware.
• Document research methodologies, code, and experimental findings thoroughly.
• Mentor junior researchers and interns, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
